21.  The Boy Who Lived, 22. King's Cross

 

DUMBLEDORE ‘Help will always be given at Hogwarts, Harry, to those who ask for it.’ I have always prized my ability to turn a phrase -- words are, in my not so humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic, capable both of inflicting injury and remedying it. But I would -- in this case -- amend my original statement to this: (leaning close) Help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who most deserve it... (leaning back) Do not pitty the dead, Harry. Pitty the living.  And, above all, all those who live without love. 

 

inexhaustible : 고갈될 줄 모르는, 무궁무진한

inflicting : (괴로움 등을) 안기다.

remedying : 치료

amend : 개정(수정)하다

 

번역에는 문제없는데, 무슨 말인지 모르겠네요.. 선문답 하는 느낌입니다 ㅎㅎ

 

 

23. Delcare yourself, 24. Not Over

 

Voldemort : Stupied girl. Harry Potter is dead! From this day forward, you put your faith in me. HARRY POTTER IS DEAD! And now is the time to declare yourself. Come forward and join us or die.

(중략)

Voldemort : Well, I must say i'd hoped for better. And Who might you be, young man?

Neville : Neville Longbottom.

Voldemort : Well, Neville. I’m sure we can find a place for you in our ranks.

Neville : I’d like to say something.

Voldemort : Very well, Neville. I’m sure we’d all be fascinated to hear what you have to say.

Neville : It doesn’t matter that Harry is gone.

Seamus : (angrily) Stand down, Neville!

Neville : People die every day. Friends. Family. Yes, we lost Harry tonight. But he’s still with us, in here -- (tapping his heart) And so is Fred and Remus and Tonks and... all of them. They didn’t die in vain. (turning to Bellatrix) But you will. (to a trio of Death Eaters) Because you’re wrong. Harry’s heart did beat for us. For all of us... This isn’t over.

 

네빌의 멋진 연설과 죽은 척하던 해리의 부활!

말포이 가문은 도망가네요 ㅎㅎ

벨라트릭스는 그 명성과 역할에 비해 허무하게 죽네요. (어머니인 몰리 위즐리는 프루잇 가문으로 당대 최고의 마법사 가문으로 알려져 있습니다. 이에 강력한 마법적 능력을 물려받았으므로, 벨라트릭스라 할지라도 당해낼 수 없었겠죠)

 

또한 이전 장면에서 해리가 죽지 않고 킹스크로스로 간 것에 대해서는, 해리가 죽음을 지배하고 있기 때문이라는 해석이 있습니다. 삼 형제 이야기에 따르면, 죽음의 성물 3가지를 모두 모은 사람은 죽음을 지배할 수 있죠. 투명 망토, 지팡이, 그리고 부활의 돌까지 모두 갖고 있는 해리는 죽을 수 없는 존재라는 해석입니다.

 

 

25.  The Wand's Choice

 

마지막 호크룩스인 내기니가 죽고, 결국 볼드모트마저 죽네요.

여기서 볼드모트가 마지막까지 해리포터를 죽이지 못한 이유는 바로 지팡이 때문입니다. 이 장면의 제목인 'The wand's Choice'처럼요.

덤블도어를 죽인 사람은 스네이프이지만, 그전에 말포이가 무장해제를 시킴으로써 지팡이의 주인은 말포이가 되었습니다. 하지만 사냥꾼들에게 잡혀 말포이 저택으로 간 해리포터가 말포이를 무장해제 시킴으로써 지팡이의 주인은 해리포터가 되었고요. 따라서 볼드모트가 스네이프를 죽였지만, 스네이프는 원래 지팡이의 주인이 아니었기 때문에 의미 없는 일이었죠. 볼드모트가 가진 지팡이는 해리의 지팡이이므로, 해리를 죽일 수 없는 상황인 겁니다.

 

 

26. The Wizard's Choice

 

Hermione : Why didn’t it work for him? The Elder wand.

Harry : When he killed Snape, he thought the wand would become his. But the thing is... the wand never belonged to Snape. It was Draco who disarmed Dumbledore that night on the Astronomy Tower. From that moment on, the wand answered to him. Until the other night... (looking up)... when I disarmed Draco at Malfoy Manor.

Ron : So that means...

Harry : It's mine.

Ron : What should we do then?

Hermione : We?

Ron : I’m just saying. That’s the Elder Wand! the most powerful wand in the world! With that, we'd invincible.

 

마지막 장면에 해리가 다 설명해 주네요.

Elder wand에 대한 해리의 선택은 파괴입니다.

 

28. 19 Years Later

 

Albus : Dad?

Harry : Yes?

Albus : What if I’m put in Slytherin?

Harry : Albus Severus Potter. You were named after two Headmasters of Hogwarts. One of them was a Slytherin. And he was probably the bravest man I ever knew.

Albus : But just say I am --

Harry : Then Slytherin House will have gained a wonderful wizard. But listen, if it means so much to you, you can choose Gryffindor. The Sorting Hat takes your choice into account.

Albus : Really?

Harry : Really.

Harry : Ready?

Albus : Ready.

 

해리 아들의 이름은 알버스 세베루스 포터네요.

포터가문의 알버스 세베루스!

알버스 덤블도어와 세베루스 스네이프의 이름을 합친 이름입니다.

뭔가 가슴 뭉클해지면서 잘 마무리된 것 같네요.

 

 

이렇게 론-헤르미온느, 해리-릴리가 결혼하고 그들의 자녀들이 호그와트에 입학하기 위해 기차를 타는 장면으로 마무리되네요.
