16. He Will Come To Me

 

Lucius : My Lord? Might it be less, uh... Might it not be more prudent to call off this attack and seek the boy yourself?

Voldmort : I do not need to seek the boy! Before the night is out, he will come to me! Do you understand! Look at me. How do you live with yourself, Lucius?

Lucius : I don't know.(eyeing him with disgust)

Voldmort : Go. Find Severus. Bring him to me.

Harry : I know where he is.

 

prudent : 신중한

call off : 중단하다.

 

How do you live with yourself

 

직역하면, '어떻게 너는 너 자신과 살아가나요?'라고 해석되지만 이상합니다.

찾아보니, 문맥에 따라 조금 다르네요.

긍정적인 의미로는 '어떻게 그 일을 처리하시는지' 묻는 의미가 되고요. 이번처럼 부정적인 경우에는 '당신이 잘못된 것을 알면서도 살아야 한다'라는 뜻으로 해석되는 것 같습니다.

영화에서는 '수치스럽지도 않나?'라고 해석했습니다.

 

이번엔 역으로 해리가 볼드모트의 시야를 훔쳐보네요! 해리가 왜 볼드모트를 찾아가게 되는지, 볼드모트는 왜 스네이프를 찾는지 궁금하네요.

 

 

17. Your Mother's Eyes, 18. Confront Your Fate

 

Voldemort : The Elder Wand cannot serve me properly because I am not its true master. The Elder Wand belongs to the wizard who killed its last owner. You killed Dumbledore, Severus. While you live, the Elder Wand cannot truly be mine. You have been a good and faithful servant, Severus. But only I can live forever.

Snape : My Lord --

Voldemort :  Nagini Kill

Snape : Take, Take them. Please.

Harry : Give me something! Quickly! A flask! Anything

Snape : Take them to the Pensieve. Look at me. You have your mother's eyes.

Voldemort : You have fought valiantly... but in vain. I do not wish this. Every drop of magical blood spilled is a terrible waste. I therefore command my forces to retreat. In their absence, dispose of your dead with dignity. Harry Potter, I speak now directly to you. On this night you have allowed your friends to die for you rather than face me yourself. There is no greater dishonor. Join me in the Forbidden Forest and confront your fate. If you do not do this, I shall kill every last man, woman and child who tries to conceal you from me.

 

valiantly : 용감하게, 뛰어나게

dignity : 위엄, 품위, 존엄성

 

 

19. Vision of A Life

제가 해리포터 시리즈에서 가장 좋아하는 장면입니다. 시리즈의 모든 비밀이 풀리는 장면이죠.

 

Dumbledore : Do not ignore me, Severus. Was it not you who told me of Lord Voldemort’s plan to have the Malfoy boy murder me?

Snape : It is not expected that he will succeed.

Dumbledore : But should he fail, one would presume the Dark Lord will turn to... you. You must agree. Yes. You must be the one to kill me, Severus. It is the only way. Only then will the Dark Lord trust you completely.

Snape : You ask too much.

Dumbledore : (thundering) Too much! Nothing I could ask is too much. You know what is at stake! You more than anyone!

Dumbledore : There will come a time when Harry Potter must be told something. But you must wait until Voldemort is at his most vulnerable.

Snape : Tell him what?

Dumbledore : On the night Lord Voldemort went to Godric’s Hollow to kill Harry, and Lily Potter cast herself between them, the curse rebounded. When that happened, a part of Lord Voldemort’s soul latched itself onto the only living thing it could find: Harry himself. There’s a reason Harry can speak with snakes. There’s a reason he can look into Lord Voldemort’s mind. A part of Lord Voldemort lives inside him.

Snape : So when the time comes, the boy must die.

Dumbledore : Yes. And Voldemort himself must do it. That is essential.

Snape : You’ve kept him alive so that he can die at the proper moment. You’ve been raising him like a pig for slaughter. Dumbledore : But this is touching, Severus. Don’t tell me you’ve grown to care for the boy?

Snape : Expecto Patronum!

Dumbledore : Lily. After all this time?

Snape : Always...

 

결국 스네이프는 덤블도어 편이었고, 해리의 숨은 조력자였습니다. 릴리의 페트로누스인 암사슴을 가질 만큼 사랑했던 거죠. 말포이 대신 덤블도어를 죽인 것도 다 계획 중 일부였고요. 마지막 호크룩스는 해리포터였습니다.

 

 

20. I Open At The Close

 

Lily : You’ve been so brave, sweetheart.

Harry : Why are you here? All of you?

Lily : We never left.

Harry : Does it hurt? Dying?

Sirius : Quicker than falling asleep.

James : You’re nearly there, son.

Harry : I’m sorry. I never want any of you to die for me. And Remus, your son...

Lupin : Others will tell him what his mother and father died for. oneday, he’ll understand...

Harry : You’ll stay with me?

James : Until the end.

Harry : And he won’t be able to see you?

Sirius : No. We’re here, you see.

Harry : Stay close to me.

Lily : Always...

 

죽음의 성물 중 하나인 부활의 돌이 스니치에서 나왔네요. 부활의 돌을 손에 쥐면서 루핀과 부모님을 만나게 됩니다.

이제 볼드모트를 만나 죽음을 맞이하게 될 해리포터.
