9. Hogwarts Reunion

 

Ron : I don’t remember this being on the Marauder’s Map.

Neville : That’s because it never existed till now. The seven secret passages were sealed off before the start of the year. This is the only way in or out now. The grounds are crawling with Death Eaters and Dementors.

Hermione : How bad is it, Neville? With Snape as Headmaster.

Neville : Hardly see him. It’s the Carrows you need to watch out for.

Harry : Carrows?

Neville : Yeah. Brother and sister. In charge of discipline. They like punishment, the Carrows.

Hermione : They did that to you? But why?

Neville : Today’s Dark Arts lesson had us practicing the Cruciatus Curse. On First Years. I refused. Hogwarts has changed.

Neville : What’s the plan, Harry?

Harry : Okay. There’s something we need to find, something hidden here in the castle. And it may help us defeat You-Know-Who.

Neville : Right. What is it?

Harry : We don’t know.

DEAN Where is it?

Harry : Don’t know that either. I realize it’s not much to go on.

Harry : I think it has something to do with Ravenclaw. It'll be small, easily concealed. Anyone, any ideas?

Luna : Well, there’s Rowena Ravenclaw’s lost diadem.

Ron : (under his breath) Oh, bloody hell. Here we go.

Luna : The lost diadem of Ravenclaw? Hasn’t anyone ever heard of it? It’s quite famous.

Cho : Yes, but Luna, it’s lost. For centuries now. There’s not a person alive today who’s seen it.

Ron : Excuse me. But would someone tell me: what’s a bloody diadem?

Cho : It’s a kind of crown. You know, like a tiara. Ravenclaw’s was rumored to have magical properties, to enhance the wisdom of the wearer.

Today’s Dark Arts lesson had us practicing the Cruciatus Curse. On First Years.

 

'1학년때 실습한다 '라고 해석했는데, 번역에선 '1학년한테 실습한다.'로 나와있네요.

 

10.  Give Me Harry Potter

 

Voldmort : I know that many of you will want to fight. Some of you may even think this wise. But this is folly. I wish you no harm. I have great respect for the students of Hogwarts. I was once one myself after all. I ask for but one thing and if granted no magical blood shall be spilt... Give me Harry Potter. Do this and none shall be harmed. Give me Harry Potter and I shall leave Hogwarts untouched. Give me Harry Potter and you will be rewarded.

Harry : Time. As much as you can give me.

presume : (증거는 없지만) 추정하다, 여기다

 

해리포터가 공식적으로 등장하고, 스네이프 및 죽음을 먹는 자들을 내쫓았네요. 다른 죽음의 먹는 자들에게 공격을 반사하는 스네이프?!? 가짜 그리핀도르 검을 넣어두는 것도 그렇고 뭔가 이상하죠?

해리를 넘기라는 볼드모트의 말에 해리는 지키는 친구들과 슬리데린 학생들을 지하 감옥으로 보내라는 맥고나걸 교수님!

 

 

11. Duty To Our School

 

Neville : Let me get this straight, Professor. You’re actualyy giving us permission to do this?

Mcgonagall : That is correct, Longbottom.

Neville : To blow it up. Boom.

Mcgonagall : Boom.

Neville : Wicked. (a frown) Um... but how do on earth are we gonna do that?

Mcgonagall : Why don’t you confer with Mr. Finnegan. As I recall, he has a particular proclivity for pyrotechnics.

Seamus : I can bring it down.

Mcgonagall : That’s the spirit. Now away you go.

Flitwick : You do realize, of course, we can't keep out You-Know-Who indefinitely.

Mcgonagall : Well, That doesn’t mean we can’t delay him. And his name is Voldemort, Filius. You might as well use it. He’s going to try to kill you either way. Piertotum Locomotor! Hogwarts is threatened! Man the boundaries and protect us! Do your duty to our school! I’ve always wanted to use that spell.

but how do on earth are we gonna do that

 

On earth라는 표현이 있어서 가져왔습니다.

빼고 해석해도 문제는 없지만, on earth는 지구와는 관련이 없습니다.

도대체, 어째서, 어떻게라고 해석하시면 됩니다.

 

맥고나걸 교수님의 마지막 대사 ' I’ve always wanted to use that spell.'가 재밌었습니다

 

 

12. You Need Only Ask

 

Luna : HARRY POTTER! YOU LISTEN TO ME RIGHT NOW! Don’t you remember what Cho said about Rowena Ravenclaw’s diadem: ‘There’s not a person alive who’s seen it.’ It’s obvious, isn’t it? We have to talk to someone who’s dead. If you’re to find her, you’ll find her down there.

Harry : Aren’t you coming?

Luna : No. I think it best if you two talk alone. She’s very shy.

Harry : You’re the Grey Lady, the ghost of Ravenclaw Tower.

The Grey Lady :  I do not answer to that name.

Harry : I’m sorry. It’s Helena, isn’t it? Helena Ravenclaw. Rowena’s daughter.

The Grey Lady : Are you a friend of Luna’s?

Harry : Yes. She thought you might be able to help me.

The Grey Lady : You seek my mother’s diadem

Harry : Yes! That’s right --

The Grey Lady : Luna is kind. Unlike so many of the others, but she was wrong. I cannot help you.

Harry : Wait! Please! I want to destroy it.

The Grey Lady :  It’s here. In the castle. In the place where everything is hidden... If you have to ask, you’ll never know. If you know, you need only ask...

 

진심이 통했는지, 위치를 알려주네요. 모든 것이 숨겨져 있는 방, 바로 필요의 방이죠!

 

If you know, you need only ask

 

'만약 안다면, 물어보면 됩니다'로 해석되는 이 문장은 살짝 이해가 안 될 수 있습니다.

하지만 해리포터에 나오는 필요의 방을 안다면, 쉽게 이해됩니다.

필요의 방에선 그 사람이 필요한 모든 것들이 다 갖춰지는 방입니다. 따라서 그곳에선 원하는 모든 것을 방이 갖춰주게 되어있죠. 따라서 그 방에서 요청(ask)만 하면 얻을 수 있는 것입니다.

 

 

13. Blow For Blow

 

호크룩스 중 하나가 파괴되면서, 볼드모트와 해리에게 충격이 가네요.

근데, 헤르미온느와 론은 왜 키스를 하는 걸까요?!

 

Blow for blow : 일격을 가하다. (찾는데 꽤 오래 걸렸습니다..)

 

14. Finding The Diadem, 15. Fiendfyre

고일(말포이의 친구)까지 죽음의 먹는 자들이 되었네요. 지옥불 마법을 알려줬지만, 컨트롤할 수 있는 실력은 아니었나 봅니다. 호크룩스였던 레번클로의 왕관은 바실리스크의 이빨과 지옥불로 파괴됩니다.

 

 

이렇게 하나둘씩 파괴되는 호크룩스. 슬러그혼 교수의 기억에 따르면, 볼드모트는 7개를 만든 것으로 추측됩니다.

5개(톰 리들의 일기장, 곤트의 반지, 살라자드 슬리데린의 로켓, 헬가 후플푸프의 잔, 로위너 래번클로의 왕관)는 파괴되고 남은 2개 중 하나는 니기니입니다. 그럼 마지막 하나는 과연 뭘까요?? 

한 시간가량 남은 해리포터 시리즈. 어떻게 마무리될지 기대됩니다.
