Old way는 '옛 방식'도 있지만, '구태의연한'이란 의미도 있습니다.
그래서, 저는 '전 옛 방식을 절대 저버러지 않았다고 보장합니다'로 해석했습니다.
old way가 영화상 의미가 무엇일까 찾아봤습니다.
'Game of Thrones'에서 'Our way is the old way?'라고 말한 대사를 해석한 결과를 바탕으로 추론해 보면,
1. 죽음을 먹는 자들은 볼드모트를 추종하며 충성을 맹세했다.
2. 죽음을 먹는 자들이 볼드모트를 배신하면 죽였다. (ways)
3. 볼드모트가 해리포터 부모님을 공격하다 죽었다.
4. 볼드모트가 사라진 동안, 죽음을 먹는 자들의 규칙(old ways)들이 잘 지켜지지 않았다.
5. 볼드모트가 13년이 지나 환생하였고, 그동안 규칙들을 지키지 않은 추종자들을 죽이는 과정이다.
따라서 ways는 죽음을 먹는 자들이 볼드모트에게 하는 약속 같은 개념이고, 13년이 지났기 때문에 old ways라 한 걸로 보입니다.
