Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows - Part 1 - 1 (Ch.1~6)

1. Dark Times 

 

Vernon : Come on, Dudley, hurry up.

Dudley : I still don't understand why we have to leave.

Vernon Because it's not safe for us here anymore.

재밌는 단어입니다. 해리포터 시리즈에 나오는 기억을 지우는 마법입니다만, 이젠 단어로 등록되어 동사로 '잊어버리다'라고 널리 쓰입니다.

 

 

2. Dark Lord Ascending

 

VOLDEMORT For those of you who do not know, we are joined tonight by Miss Charity Burbage who until recently taught at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her specialty was Muggle studies. It is Miss Burbage’s belief that Muggles are not so different from us. She would, given her way, have us mate with them. To her, the mixture of magical and Muggle blood is not an abomination but something to be encouraged. I, of course, take a contrary view. But we’re all civilized here. All adults. We can agree to disagree.

3. The Seven Potters, 4. Aerial Ambush, 5. Fallen Warrior

 

Mad-Eye : Potter, you’re underage, which means you’ve still got the Trace on you.

Harry : The Trace?

Mad-Eye : You sneeze and the Ministry will know who wipes your nose. Point is, we have to use those means of transport the Trace can’t detect: brooms, thestrals and the like. We’ll go in pairs. That way if anyone’s out there waiting for us -- and I reckon there will be -- they won’t know which Harry Potter is the real one.

Harry : The real one...?

Lupin : What creature sat in the corner the first time that Harry Potter visited my office at Hogwarts!

Harry : Are you mad...?

Lupin : WHAT CREATURE!

Harry : A Grindylow!

Lupin : We’ve been betrayed. Voldemort knew you were being moved tonight. I had to make sure you weren’t an imposter.

Harry : Who did this to him?

Lupin : Snape. (nodding to George) He’ll be fine, Molly. But that’s Dark Magic. The damage is done.

Fred : How do you feel, Georgie?

George : Saint-like.

Fred : Come again?

George : Saint-like. I'm holy. I'm holy Fred. Get it?

Fred : The whole wide world of ear-related humor and you go for "I'm holey" That's pathetic.

George : Reckon I'm still better-looking than you.

Bill : Mad-Eye's Dead. Mundungus took one look at Voldemort and Disapparated.

 

이 장면에서 이야기할 2가지가 있습니다.

 

I'm holy Fred

 

처음에는 잘 이해 안 되는 유머라 한번 찾아봤습니다.

reddit에서 잘 설명해둔 글이 있는데요. 

 

"There are two versions of "Holy" being referenced. He is saying that he is essentially a saint (Holy) because he has a hole in his ear (holey). It is not a good joke, as Fred immediately points out."

 

hole in 과 holey의 발음이 유사한 것을 이용한 유머입니다.

 

Mad-Eye's Dead.

 

여기서 메드아이가 죽었다고 말하는 Bill은 실제 메드아이를 연기한 브렌단 글리슨의 아들 도널 글리슨입니다. 실제 아들이 아버지가 죽었다는 걸 말해야 하는 장면이라 쉽지 않았다고 하네요.

 

6. Dumbledore's Will

 

Scrimgeour : ‘Herein is set forth the Last Will and Testament of Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. First, to Ronald Bilius Weasley, I leave my Deluminator, a device of my own making, in the hope that -- when things seem most dark -- it will show him the light.’

Ron : Dumbledore left this for me? Brilliant. What is it?

Scrimgeour : ‘To Miss Hermione Jean Granger, I leave my copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard, in the hope that she will find it entertaining and instructive.’

Ron : Mom used to read me those. "The Wizard and the Hopping Pot. Babbitty Rabbitty and the Cackling Stump." Oh, come on, "Babbitty Rabbitty"

Scrimgeour : ‘To Harry James Potter, I leave the Snitch he caught in his first Quidditch match at Hogwarts, as a reminder of the rewards of perseverance and skill.

Harry : it that it, then?

Scrimgeour : Not quite. Dumbledore left you a second bequest. The sword of Godric Gryffindor. Unfortunately, the sword of Gryffindor was not Dumbledore's to give away. As an important historical artifact, it belongs

Hermione : To Harry. It belongs to Harry. It came to him when he most needed it in the Chamber of Secrets.

Scrimgeour : The sword may present itself to any worthy Gryffindor, Miss Granger. That does not make it that wizard's property. And, in any event, the current whereabouts of the sword as unknown.

harry : Excuse me?

Scrimgeour : The sword is missing. I don;t know what you're up to, Mr Potter. But you can't fight his war on your own. He's too strong.

 

perseverance : 인내심

bequest : 유증, 유산

 

 

여기까지 해서 초반 30분이 조금 넘었습니다.

덤블도어 교수님의 죽음 이후, 볼드모트와 죽음을 먹는 자들은 더욱 대담하게 움직이고 있고, 해리포터와 불사조 기사단 멤버들은 목숨을 거는 일들이 발생하네요.
